This story follows Manji, a samurai cursed with immortality who wanders feudal Japan searching for a way to finally die. He later meets Rin, a young girl whose family was slaughtered by a group of swordsmen and who is determined to hunt them down herself. His life is shattered when his closest friend and commander, Griffith, sacrifices the group to achieve godlike power.
